(WNCN) A local clothing boutique in Cary closed shopped Saturday afternoon, but not before showing one final act of kindness.

BeYOUtiful Butterfly Boutique had been struggling to stay open for some time and Saturday was the last day the boutique would be open. Before shutting down, owner April Metcalf wanted to do something nice for law enforcement in the community.

On its last day, BeYOUtiful Butterfly Boutique transformed and added a bouncy house out front, bongo players and a balloon animal station. Food and drinks were also being handed out at the store.

The fun was only for officers and their families.

Metcalf let the families fill up a bag with as much as they could. She gave away the clothes, shoes and accessories for free.

She told CBS North Carolina that with the recent police shootings and the climate surrounding law enforcement she wanted to do something positive.

Those who turned up to shop said the message was definitely received.

Charlotte Truelove and her daughter,

think it very humbling that they would offer something like this for law enforcement,” said Truelove, whose husband is in law enforcement. “They struggle with the work they have to do. It not easy for them, and it not always peaceful. said the event was just a small way of showing local law enforcement that they appreciated and that people are thinking of them.

wanted to make sure that they know that were thinking about them, we support them and we appreciate what they do and we wanted to give back to them as well,
